What types of SolidWorks 2007 features are YOU interested in?

Submitted by on Friday, July 7, 20064 Comments

With the holiday and my son’s seventh birthday this week, there hasn’t been much time to post on the blog.  I will adding some posts next week on some new SolidWorks 2007 features.

Now that word is getting around in regards to some of the new features in SW2007, I would like to hear from some of you about what features you would like to see reviewed here.  Examples could be splines, UI schemes, drawing blocks, or anything else that is new in 2007.  Post a comment and let me know.

That’s all for now……

The belts & chains feature sounds marvelous, if it is not processor intensive.

I'm also excited to see that they've added a real mirror feature to assemblies, one that remembers its parametric information the way component pattern does. Oh, wait. SolidWorks didn't really add a good mirror feature after all. instead of something useful like that, they're still touting the universally unused Design Checker.

    Hi TJ,

I'll see what I can whip up on the belts & chains enhancements. I've played with it a little bit and have been REALLY impressed so far. (Both sketch & assembly) As a former machine designer, I really can appreciate a feature like this.

As far as the assembly mirror issues go, I am right there with you. It still has a ways to go before it is where I feel it should be. All I can say is keep putting in your enhancement requests. If you know other people who really need this as well, have them put an enhancement request in as well.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Best Regards,
