SolidWorks 2008 Pre-Release 2 is out

Submitted by Ricky Jordan on Friday, August 10, 2007Comments

Well that was quick!  SolidWorks 2008 Pre-Release 1 (PR1) came out about a week ago and Pre-Release 2 (PR2) was made available yesterday!  Luckily this is just in time for me as I was going to install PR1 today!  Subscription customers can get SolidWorks 2008 Pre-Release 2 from the Customer Portal.

I thought I would mention a few things here for some of the folks that might be new to SolidWorks.  Pre-Release versions are still not recommended for production work.  If you download it and begin using it for real projects you are doing so at your own risk.  It is also recommended that if you have had any Beta versions of SolidWorks 2008 on your computer, you uninstall them before installing a Pre-Release version.

I’m purely guessing here, but it looks as if First Customer Ship (FCS) (otherwise known as SP0) could be coming soon.  We will see.

Stay tuned….more to come!
