Sergio,

You will have to write out the SolidWorks 2008 files to a neutral format (IGES, STEP, Parasolid, etc.) and then import it back into SolidWorks 2006. Unfortunately you will lose all your feature history. Also beware of the version you use if you write a Parasolid file from 2008 for use in 2006. You will want to set the parasolid version in the export settings back several versions so that you are sure SolidWorks 2006 can read it.

Hope this helps.

Ricky

Rudi,

The COSMOS name has been discontinued altogether in favor of Simulation. The What's New document has a chart that shows the 2008 product names and the new 2009 product names. For your convenience I have provided a link to the chart below:

http://www.rickyjordan.com/images/2008/SW2009_P...

Simulation (Formally COSMOSWorks) has undergone some major enhancements to the User Interface. If 2006 is your current version then you will notice quite a few changes.

If you are on subscription you can log into the Customer Portal and download the What's New in SolidWorks 2009 document. I highly encourage you to check it out.

Best Regards,

Ricky

Hi Rick,

One question: Does SolidWorks Simulation Premium totally replace CosmosWorks? as since after version 2006, I never heard anymore about CosmosWorks latest release?

Rudi

Thanks for posting this Mike.

Mike Wilson's site is legendary in the SolidWorks Community. His speed racer car is still one of the coolest SolidWorks models I have ever seen despite the fact it was modeled SEVERAL years ago.

When I get time to finish up the Mach 4 Racer I can tell you for sure it won't have the detail that Mike Wilson's model does. I simply don't have the time to get it there. This post was a great reminder for me to add a link to Mike's site in my Web Links section. Thanks again for bringing it up!

Ricky
