<description>BTW I think most savvy people who have been around the traps know SW really doesn&#039;t make the grade at sp0.
It has been this way for years. This is why many companies leave their install to sp3 or so.
To learn SW cut short the beta program for no good reason is not confidence inspiring.
As a solo designer I stopped subs because of the unacceptable number of bugs and sp issues. Really it was SW2005 that killed my enthusiasm.
If your company had that release and waited 6 months for sp1 and the rest you know what I am talking about.
I am waiting for the quality to be addressed before resuming subs.
Honestly though it may never happen. There appears to be little serious interest from SW in tackling what counts. However useful SW is as a 3dCAD program having 2000 bugs in a &#039;fit for production&#039; release pushes the bounds of credibility.
Despite the apparent success of successive beta programs the total number of bugs continues to grow.
SW2006sp5 -final- has more than 400.
I&#039;ll leave it for individuals to decide for themselves if they agree or not with my concerns based on their own experiences of previous releases.
Thanks to Ricky for allowing diverse posts.
I would be interested to know if sam@msn is actually an SW employee or someone in the real world trying to make a living with the software....

<description>From other posts this neil fellow has written, he is not a subscription customer, so he does not have any direct experience with SW07 or prerelease or beta. His comments on this version of the software have no validity because has no experience with it. Most of his posts in other places are also flaming fanatical ranting with no facts to back it up.

		<description>Ok Ricky stable is good.
Good = few gross bugs causing crashes, but what about all the other bugs!
There were only 2000+ after sp0.0 in 06.
Apparently this one is good enough to push out the door early because few crashes = finished and fit for consumption.
AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH! :o(
There is absolutely no reason why another month could not be spent on the list of beta bugs.
Look forward to reading more reports ;o)

		<description>Hi Neil,

Don&#039;t sweat it. You are not &quot;polluting&quot; the blog at all. One of the reasons this blog was started was to create some good discussions. :-)

While I share your concerns on the quickness of the availablity, I&#039;m not ready to say it isn&#039;t fit for release. I haven&#039;t logged many hours using the EV SP0 or SP0 yet, but Beta4 &amp; Pre-Release 1 were very stable for me. (Of course this is just my experience thus far :-)) There are a lot of areas in the software I haven&#039;t touched much.

I will do some testing over the next couple of weeks. After that I will be in a better position to judge it&#039;s status.

Overall, I&#039;ll say that 2007 has had the best program stability versus beta/pre-release programs in recent memory.

Time and usage will tell. Keep the comments coming and thanks for reading the blog.

Ricky
